Howard Eldredge, Chairman and Area 4 Supervisor-
Howard is a retired Navel Officer and Educator. Howard
started with the Bitterroot Conservation District as an
Associate Supervisor in 2005 and now serves as its Chairman.
He and his wife Patti are landowners in the Victor area, with
property on the Bitterroot River and an adjoining tributary. He
is active with the Bitter Root Land Trust, Bitter Root Water
Forum, Bitterroot Trout Unlimited, and the Ravalli County
Bob Nelson, Vice Chairman and Area 1 Supervisor-
Bob has served on the Conservation District Board since
1995. He brings to the District a fountain of knowledge and a
strong desire to educate the general public on the dynamics of
watersheds and conservation. He built the Bitterroot CD's
watershed trailer and has presented this amazing educational
tool all around Western Montana.
Paul Rosenberg, Treasurer and Area 2 Supervisor-
Paul is retired from the US Navy and the Natural Resources
Conservation Service. He has a Bachelor of Science Degree in
Business Management. He has served on the Bitterroot
Conservation Board since 2013. Paul has a practical
understanding of agriculture and enjoys working with
agricultural producers and partners on conservation issues.
Jeff Mark, Area 3 Supervisor-
Jeff moved to the Bitterroot full time in February 2016, from
Carson City, Nevada. He has twenty-nine years of military
service, a BA in Criminal Justice, and an MA in Organizational
Management. He is currently a Project Manager at the Rocky
Mountain Lab (RML). He is an avid hunter and fisherman.
Chad Sutherlin, Area 5 Supervisor-
Chad has served on the Conservation District Board since
2015. His knowledge in agriculture is a real asset to the
district. Chad was raised on a cattle ranch in the Bitterroot.
With his wife Lacey, he owns and operates 3C Cattle LLC., in
the Stevensville area.
Kent Myers, Urban Supervisor-
Kent was appointed to the Bitterroot Conservation District as
the Urban Supervisor for Hamilton in January 2000. He was
born and raised in the Central Valley of California, where he
developed an appreciation for agriculture, a love for fly fishing,
and the outdoors. He moved from Los Angeles to Hamilton in
1984 to work for a biotechnology start-up company called Ribi
ImmunoChem Research, Inc., and has worked continuously at
the Hamilton site through acquisitions by Corixa in 1999 and
GlaxoSmithKline in 2005. Kent is married to Diane Myers and
they live in Hamilton with an ever-changing collection of dogs
Julie Ralston, District Administrator-
Julie started working for the district in 1999. She served as the
Montana State Employees Organization President. Received awards
from the Department of Natural Resource Conservation, USDA
Natural Resources Conservation Service, and the Montana Association
of Conservation Districts, as administrator of the year and program
administration. She enjoys working with the public on soil and water
restoration projects, spending time with her five grand children, the
great outdoors, hiking, camping and fishing.
