Six major land use areas have been identified within the project area. Soil map units will be designed to provide the following interpretations for each of these major land use areas.
- Mixed Irrigated and Small Tracts - Irrigation water management, erosion factors, crop production, crop suitability, ground disturbance with consideration for building site factors.
- Mixed Dryland Crops and Small Tracts - Available water capacity, erosion factors, crop production, crop suitability, ground disturbance with consideration for building site factors.
- Grazing Lands - Plant productivity, plant communities, erosion, ground disturbance, and wildlife.
- Mixed Grazing Lands and Small Tracts - Plant productivity, plant communities, pastureland suitability, ground disturbance with consideration for building site factors.
- Mixed Grazing Lands/Forestland and Small Tracts - Plant productivity, plant communities, silvicultural, ground disturbance, wildlife, and recreation factors.
- Recreation and Wildlife - Plant communities, and wildlife/recreation factors.
